Projects of Merit
For SOARS 2020, the UNF Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and Graduate School conceptualized and introduced a new award: Project of Merit. This designation, based upon the SOARS abstract submission, is intended to recognize research and creative projects that are particularly innovative, significant, or compelling. Undergraduate Projects of Merit will be selected by a team of faculty and students affiliated with the OUR; graduate Projects of Merit will be selected by a committee organized by the Graduate School.
Based upon the abstracts submitted prior to the evolution of SOARS to an online environment, Projects of Merit for the SOARS 2020 Virtual Conference will be awarded in the following general categories:
- Arts and Humanities
- Biology, Physics, and Chemistry
- Engineering, Math, and Computer Sciences
- Health Sciences
- Social Sciences
Both undergraduate and graduate Projects of Merit will be announced on the SOARS 2020 Virtual Conference website at Noon on Wednesday, April 8. Projects of Merit will be identified with a virtual ribbon. Award-winning project authors will receive real ribbons when UNF resumes face-to-face classes.
